Just been looking at your battery box and looking at options. One fundamental flaw in your system when putting battery and electronics in the same box: The venting of gasses by the battery when charging. It causes corrosion in the electronics, and there's a potential for explosion.

It was ventilated by a 12v PC fan that could either be switched on manually or it got switched on with the inverter or when its charging.

Not sure that just venting it via fan is sufficient though. I was thinking of an input and exhuast fan would work, but not convinced. Even if nothing is switched on the battery might still vent gasses and thus corrode nice fancy electronics

there was nothing fancy about my electronics.

On top of that I used a silver battery which is sealed so minimal gas release.

yep, valve regulated or AGM type batteries only release significant amounts of gas if you overcharge - i.e. provide voltage above 14.6V

As far as I understand, the gasses are not neccessarily corrosive (think its mainly hydrogen), but definitely flammable / explosive.
(but I stand to be corrected )

Another thing... Why 100 amp fuses?

The 16mm cable is only rated for around 92amps (or there about), and a typical sized Brad Harrison (not the monster size ones) is rated up to 50 amps?

the battery box idea sounds nice. I am a new pajero owner. the 12V socket in the back of my 3.2 DiD is dead. How do you open it up ? I checked the fuse box in front....they are all ok.

Any ideas of what to use to connect it all up? Something nice and neat? Was hoping for some busbar type effort with fuse holders
