What model / year is your Pajero? 1999 3.5GLS SWB
How much mileage had your Pajero done? +-285000
Is it the original motor? Yes
Any major work? Cambelt replaced on 284000km. Bought the car with 283000km on clock, being the 4th owner, so don't actaully know.

I am the third owner of my Pajero SWB 2.8 Turbo diesel, which was imported secondhand from Japan and it has 211060 Km on the clock, on UK tarmac roads and Japanese roads - probably an easier life than your trucks have.
As far as I know on the original engine and auto gearbox.
It smoked slightly when I got it so I removed the EGR. No sign of smoke since.
The last owner used it to tow a horsebox trailer, I use it to tow our small caravan.
A couple of weeks ago I had the Pitman arm replaced - it had missed the recall until now! - But no matter Mitsubishi still did the job

2001 3.2 DID SWB 370,000 kls, original motor/gearbox all but the tyres and battery and windscreen(s)

2000 ,3.2 diesel SWB
Milage, 287000 kms
Majer repairs, new heavy deaty clutch
AND STILL GOING STRONG SHOWED ITS STRENGTH AGAIN AT THE BRAKKE DUINE THE PAST WEEKEND.

Any major work? None, that I know of, just bought second hand. (Will update after getting service history from Mitshubishi, soon)
