Roelf, have you had a chance to test the dash support properly and are you still happy with the repair?

Sad to say but I have the same problems with my 2009 SWB going for 60000 kms. I will see the dealers soon for the 60k service and I know I will have to pay for brackets and whatever they will have to do on the rear door. As long as they admit that there is problem. With the last service they ignore my complaint about the door. Anybody else using Brooklyn Mitsubishi in Pretoria?

I decided to visit the official Mitsubishi-motors.co.za website and was pleased to see a owners corner area on the website. It even contains links. It contains various articles about the launches of new models, in cluding this one! http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.za/news/item/id/30. The Journo drove the new Pajero Legend (which comes with a 120K worth of expedition kit) to Hell and back. Now they reported no Dash problems on the same road. Or else Mitsubishi-Motors either had the road specially graded or the stiffened the dash brackets.
Anyway guys, I hope you get the Dash Jive sorted. I can think of nothing more irratating than a rattle in the dash.

I can also report that I am very happy with the dash fix - a world of difference, and definitely worth it, even if you have to pay for it. Just make sure you get the new fix (a bracket and a brace), as the old fix did not make a big difference.

I will be testing it thoroughly when in Botswana in March, especially that last 20km before south gate of Moremi - did it last year without the fix, and was very noisy to say the least.

These journos get a complete set of info, it will be both hardcopy and electronic - and still they get it wrong.

The legend is based on the GLX and not the GLS. That makes me wonder if it really has the 100k maint plan as per the article.

The road to Hell sure doesn't require a 4x4, so we have to accept that the off-road prowes, described in the article, also comes out of the info-pack supplied to the journos at the launch.

Hi Roelf,

The GLX does come with a 5yr/100km maintenance plan. Im not sure what is was previously but I have received confirmation of 5yr/100km Maint plan from Mitsubishi themselves as well as the dealership that sold me my GLX. I would not have bought the vehicle if it was anything less.

Cheers
Craig

Just been backwards and forwards to McCarthy's Witbank about the dash support brackets, for Gen4 - answer from MitSa was to send photos showing agent how to make and fit brackets out of 3mm alluminum strip, to be done under warrenty ... well and good BUT the time allowed for total dash strip, manufacture brackets and reassemble dash is 3 hours! Naturally Agent is reluctent to carry excess time to their own account and I am very reluctent to have a hurried job done which is only going to cause friction between me and agent and MitSA. Answer is for MitSA to come to agent and do job as training exercise, to MitSA cost and show real time, and take responsability for quality of workmanship. My second Pajero, so a return customer to a dealership that goes the extra mile but they need support from Mitsubishi.
