Figured I'd do an update on my earlier post about 5 years ago, seeing I am now sadly selling Blou Vrou.
What model / year is your Pajero? 2001 GLS LWB 3.5 V6 Manual Samcor Body
How much mileage had your Pajero done? 240 000km
Is it the original motor? Yes
Any major work? (none of this really major work in the Discovery sense of the word)
- Branches to replace cracked exhaust manifolds (+/- 200 000km)
- New clutch (+/-220 000km)
- Had a niggling limp mode problem - turned out to be a chafed harness behind the radio (+/-220 000km)
- Replaced heater radiator T-pieces (one at around 180 000km, the other around 210 000km)
- Starter goes dead in extreme cold - suspect current loss in steering column. Fitted "skelm" wire to activate starter straight from battery. (started around 235 000km)
Apart from that the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned! total maintenance cost (including services, batteries and tyres) about R 30 000 in 5 years / 90 000km! 33cpk ... the stuff motoring dreams are made of! I will gladly take the pain at the pump to fill up with petrol if that is the result!

2002 Inported Exceed SWB 3.2 Did.(Black)On the GPS it still thinks it runs somewhere in Japan.
It goes by two names alas Kortesdikkes or Meidsebussie as it belongs to the wife.
We got it when it had 147000 - now 187000km.
Original motor with regular services at dealership.
Replaced brake liners myself. Dealer just replaced the front inner CV booties. They do a lot of extra work with the increased angle as it has more than a 10cm body lift with OME gear.
Would like to have the mapping fixed to be able to use the GPS and TV.
CD player stopped working and would not eject the 6 cds - not a train smash - been like that for a while, still need to get it fixed - agents/dealers cannot fix.
Cigarette lighter fittings fused both front and back as it cannot supply even a small tyre pump. The wifes other Paj (2008 3.8 LWB v6 - 76000km) -same problem. It does not blow the fuse but blow the fittings itself. This makes the fittings obsolete as you cannot trust them for fridges or small items - only electronics you can use it for - die enigste pyninniegat storie van Paj - but small stuff.
Other than that - a true dream car.

HI
2006 Pajero 3.2 DiD LWB
203,000 Kms
Within last 5,000 Kms I have replaced front shocks (one was leaking - causing nasty knocks), rebooted torn front CV boot (one had a crack in it), fitted new front tyres (Cooper AT3 2015 models with 80,000 Km all road all hazard warranty) 2 new rears to go on in another 3-5,000 Kms
Mods - replaced interior lights and door runners with LEDs from eBay.
Built my own replacement rear parcel shelf.
Cheers
Rich
