I have Good Year AT on my Paj,
Second set of Hankook on my D4D with very good results kilo wise. Soft sidewall will probably be a problem in very rocky conditions but ovrall good performance in all conditions on gravel and tar- very quiet as well.

Good Morning everyone.
I bought by Pajero with Cooper ST tyres, and I'm very happy with them. But its soon time to buy new ones. Coopers and BFG are to expensive for me at the moment.
This weekend I went to Klein Tafelberg, and I saw a Jeep Wrangler with Falken tyers. He did very well in the sand as well as on the rocks.
Here is the Falken LA/AT tyre:

And here is a review:

Do anyone have more info about this tyre? How is the driving and performance? And maybe the price of these tyres?
Hope someone can help me.
Kind Regards

Does anyone have more info about the Maxtrek SU-800 and Federal Couragia A/T tyres?
I heard the Tera Trac from Hercules is discontinued.
Never thought buying tyres can be so difficult.
Hope someone can help me.

Have not heard of those.
I've been using Bridgestone dueller HTs (yes!) for the last 40k km, which included about 15k km off road. They look like they've got more than 50 percent left, but time will tell. Places driven include Lesotho, Mozambique, Central kalahari,Moremi in Botswana, and the salt pans. (the roughest of which was a shocker of a road between katse dam and sani top chalets in Lesotho.)
Road noise seems very good on these, but they are pricey... My next set will be goodyear wrangler ATs - based on price, wear, and the typical terrain I do when off road.

Hi All,
I recently fitted Hankook dynapro ATM's to my 2005 SWB and must say that I am very happy so far.
Before the Pajero, I had a 2005 Ford Ranger, I first fitted A/T 31x10,5's BF's and later, (120'000km later), replaced the AT's with BF MK2 M/T's also 31x10,5's. I was very impressed with the life I got out of the AT's but had lots of issues with the MT's - uneven wear, severe road noise, and poor life expectancy (due to uneven wear).
BF's AT are me first choice, put are too pricey in anything bigger than 15".
PS. For everyone looking for info on tires of any kind, I would recommend speaking to John Hartmann at Bundu Bande, he was very helpful when fitting the Hankook's, and can get any make and size at unbelievable prices. He personally fitted and balanced all 5 Hankook's. Contact John no. 082 787 7353

Hi Bush Baby,
I payed just over R 10'000 for all five, 265/65/17" (replaced the spare too) this was fitted installed and balanced. Best price TWT would give me (without fitment was R 2459/each.)
I am very happy with the Hankook's, I completed the Fountains valley 4x4 track over the the past weekend and they did not disappoint.
As far as the Khumo's are concerned my brother in-law recently had a set of 235/85/16 fitted to his Landrover Defender. He is very happy with the Khumo's, they replaced a well worn set of Bridgestone A694's. He farms and often uses the Landrover to pull heavy trailers over rough terrain, he's has only good things to say about Khumo. (John's price on these were R 1700-00/each) fitted and balanced.
Best of luck with the tire shopping, have a good weekend.

I recently fitted BFG A/T's after running on Michelins. So far, I'm very happy with the performance on and off road, having driven from Cape Town to Mozambique twice, Kgadikgadi, Botsana Pans, Moremi/Chobe, etc. I still can't notice much wear. There is slightly more road noise on tar compared to the Michelins, but not enough to really notice it.

Hi all, i drive a gen 3.5 v6 SWB had geolanders on initially they were great on road but off road they lacked grip, then went to BF'S which were good off road except on rocky terrain which broke pieces out of the tire's, they had very poor traction in wet weather and were extremely noisy above 80kmh, recently i fitted Firestone destination all terrains which i must say have impressed me from day one. With the price being competitive at R1150 per tire these tires grip well both on and off road, they grip exceptionally well in wet weather and are virtually noise free at any speed, i also have seen a positive result with regard to fuel consumption as well
Regards Ken
