1kg of anything = 1kg of anything else!renier.dejongh wrote:Hi Andre,
I am in the same boat. I will not be able to make it although I've paid and looked forward to be there.
The reason is that I'm still without my Pajero. I went to the manufacturer yesterday whom is busy with the installation of the kitchen, dual battery system water tank, drwer systems, etc in my vehicle. He will not be able to complete the installation before this weekend.
Sorry about this hence I will be at the next GTG, definately. About the money, maybe you can organise me a sticker or something?
I've got one question for you guys;
The framework of the kitchen was suppose to be made of aluminium (that is on the quote though). Getting there yesterday I sadly saw that they made it out of steel tubing. I am worried about the weight? To late now.
1) Hence can someone tell me the difference in weight between these two. 1kg aluminium = ?kg in steel.
2) What is the difference in cost in kg between these two? (these days we have to fight for our rights)
Guys, enjoy the day there on Sunday
Renier
I assume you meant what is the weight difference between similar items in either aluminium and steel?
The ratio = 7.8/2.6 = 3 (ie steel is 3 times heavier than aluminium)
Sincerely hope the Captain Morgan challenge tomorrow will be easy on Allegro and Me, quite looking forward to Sunday and don't want to miss. . . .
Ok, as follow. Those who whant to braai etc please take all your braai stuff along. (everything but the kitchen sink) I'm taking 2x bags of brickettes as our sponsor for the wood could not do anymore. I will be there from aprox 8h30 (white Gen 4 with Pajero club banner) If there is any questions feel free to contact me at 083 324 4232.

I must agree on both statements but sorry for you Simon here is proof
To the guys that did all the organising ( and could not attend) a great big thank you and congratulations, this was an excellent event and every one that went thoroughly enjoyed it. To the sponsors a big thank you for coming to the party and helping to make it such a fun day. There was a good mix in the proficiency levels of the folks attending and I think every one learned something new about their vehicle and about themselves.
David Maritz did a talk on a few finer points of vehicle drive trains and safe recovery and helped with making sure that every one got through without damage to their pride and joy, Thanks for offering your time to help and educate the rest of us.
Some folks did not trust the reliability of the mitsu and had no intention to walk home but fortunately plan B was not needed

Glad you guys enjoyed the venue and everything. I am so sad I couldn't be there. Work work work.
Please post some pics. I'll get the one's from David later in the week and also put them up.
Now we need to organize a nice little GTG after work just to get to know each other better.!!
