Hi All,

Herewith a project update on the computer centres for Forest Farm for the Cerebral Palsied. The project encompasses 3 computer centres, the first being at Forest Farm and consisting of 6 computers and 2 printers, the second being in Soweto with2 computers and a printer and then the third being in Diepsloot with 1 pc & printer.

Microsoft have donated 6 computers and Tim Tindall and Jackie Kelly have also donated equipment. Thank you to Doug Fear, Mike Collinge and Anton van Staden for your offers of equipment and components, we may well still come knocking on your doors.

Tim and I went through to the centre and measured up the room for work benches.

Length of room = 4.19m
Width = 2.38m
Desk Height = 75cm
Width of desktop = 70cm
Windows for Perspex 1130x600

What we are looking for now are some donations of countertops 4190mm x 700mm, 1 off, 2380mm x 700mm, 2 off. Perspex 1130mm x 600mm, 2 off.

We are going to be organising a work weekend at the centre shortly, from a Friday afternoon through to a Sunday, to firstly paint the room, then to put in the 2 Perspex windows and build the desks. Once this has been completed we will start installing all the software on the computers and networking them together.

Once the main centre is complete, we will move on to the Soweto centre and finally Diepsloot.

If you are keen to get involved, please email me your name & contact details.
Kind Regards
