I have a Gen 3 SWB DiD

I want to make the cigarette lighter plug in the centre consol between the front seats permanently live, ie it still gives power even after the key is removed from the ignition. One option would be to run a cable from the battery to the plug itself but I am sure that there is an easier way, possibly some kind of modification on the engine side of the firewall. Obviously I will have to be very carefull what is left on and for how long whilst the battery is not charging.
Any ideas?

Your easiest option would be to run a wire/cable directly from the battery and disconect the original
I would recomend the best wire you can buy(silicone would be prefered) as it has to run along through the forewall as weel as pass a lot of metal
I would also recomend a propper in line fuse as close as possable to the battery
