PRACTICAL TIP: GEN 2 WHEELCAPS

After losing a wheelcap and hearing that new caps cost R800 each at the stealers and more than R100 at the scrap yards, I did a check on all the other caps, and found that some could be removed simply by pulling them off with one hand, while others require a fair amount of force and leverage.

ADVICE: Check them now and after every time they were removed, and bend out the clips to ensure a secure fit.

Else they'll fly when you hit a rough road, bump or water.

Eish!

I suggest you put your name up at the scrapyards. And check their price in advance - otherwise they might find out what the stealers charge in the meantime!

Remember, the Colt used the same part. You'll probably also get one off a Colt, as there are many more Colts out there than Pajeros.

Check the clips on the other three in the meantime...

Anton

PS I have one more here, but it being in the Cape does make it difficult. I may be able to send it up with a colleague if you are interested, though.

OK by me. Henk, do you want to take the cap? I want R80 for it (you can pay when Simon delivers it).

You cal always give it back if you think it is too "second-hand".

Anton
