Gen2 retractable antenna FUBAR
And so the inevitable happened... my antenna is toast.

Will now look for a whip that will fit. Anyone changed theirs in Gen2... I gather it's a schlep.

Re: Gen2 retractable antenna FUBAR
I bought mine with a solid antenna.

Mine looks like a sand dune flag - it whistles at 130km/h but I never drive that fast as the fuel gauge moves quickly at that speed too.

I have very good reception though!

Hey Simon,

Mines also gone, snapped off at the base, haven't bothered to do anything yet, as I'm having some sound issues
with my ice, will get to it at some point, ever thought of plugging the hole with a rubber plug, and using an interior antenna
like the ones for cell phones, did that on my polo, and worked well (except for minor reception problems here and there), might do that again with this, as don't need the hassle of constantly losing antennae due to heavy bush driving, I think the best bet though, for better reception, is to install a large enough loop, all along the inside of the ceiling.

You can actually buy antennae that connect to rear de-misters, one could use something like that for the loop, I think a LWB, would be perfect for a large loop to get excellent reception.
