Greeting all.
I trust someone on this forum will be able to help me as I have tried just about all the MM agents as well as a few others but my problem remain unresolved.
I have a 2004 SWB 3.2 DiD automatic with 180 000k's. The idling problem started about 20000 k's ago but is still unresolved. Injectors were replaced, pump also replaced. All services to date, all fluids changed as per spec including transmission oil. Also had the accelerator pedal position sensor checked and reset.
The puzzling thing is that no faults are recorded on the system, hence they are also lost.
Here are the symptoms:
If I let the vehicle idle in park or neutral, with air con off, she idles 100%.
If I switch the aircon on, the idle-up works 100% and the revs rise to about 1000rpm with aircon on maximum cold. If I set the temperature to about 22 degrees, the revs drop slightly. All of the above is correct.
However, as soon as I select R or D, the revs drop to about 550rpm and the engine runs a bit rough and feels like it wants to stop. It sounds like it is missing and makes a surging/rocking/pulsing kind of movement forwards or backwards depening on which gear is selected.
If I switch the aircon off, she is slightly better, but still not 100%.
I hope someone can point me in the right direction as I have had 6 months of frustrations in trying to get this resolved. Any suggestions as to where else to start looking will be much appreciated.
Many thanks for all your assistance.
I would start by flushing the autobox oil and replacing the autobox filter
thanks Marius..

frsh oil could have dislodged some goo that is messing with an actuator.
try the ecu reset first - disconnect both battery terminals, leave for 5 minutes, let 2 terminals touch and then connect battery again.
If that fails take it back to the person who serviced the oil and ask him to take a look as the problem started since he started working on it. (If that is the case) - I heard these auto boxes are finicky regarding oil quality, grade and viscosity.
