My Dad had the unfortunate experience to have the Yokohama Geolander disintegrate on him twice on two separate occasions, once with his old Gen2 1996 3.5 V6 and with his Gen3 2001 DiD. each time minor damage to the fenders and body panels. Both only left small cosmetic damage. from then on last 7 years only ran on Bridgstones.

I had a bad experience with Maxtrek - I don't know the cause of the tyre ballooning and Maxtrek didn't want to know

I also had fantastic service from Maxxis Bravo 700 A/T I had on my Gen2!

Had bf ats on Kasper and nothing but good service and road holding from them not even a puncture. Had an itch where I do not like scratching an fitted a set of bridgestones thinking they were going to give me better km and quieter driving, well as for the quieter drive..... maybe a tad but not much. Road Holding on dry tar is a bit wallowy unless pumped to about 2.5 bar and with that grip in the wet is slippery, I see myself changing these before I have chance to see if they give more km. In the rough both are much of a muchness with the bridgestones having a slight edge in sand

I voted for Cooper (Discoverer STT) but... My actual tyres are Silverstone HT-778 for on road driving/tar road.
For MT I have idea to try Silverstone MT 117 Sport. Unfortunately, they are only 33x12,5x15 available. For my Pajero 33x10,5x15 could be better I think.

I'm also in the market for tyres after two of my Bridgestone 694's developed sidewall damage. The tread on all 4 tyres don't look healthy either after about 25k km.
For some reason they worked very well on my Colt but I wasn't towing and hardly ever deflated tyres. Now with the trailer I deflate whenever Bots/Nam sand roads appear and I believe their sidewalls are not up to the job.
New set will be BFGs because a high number of serious overlanders rate them the best ATs. I would love to go to muds, but I think the tarmac noise will be unbearable.
I will keep one new 694 as a spare.

I have BFG A/T and my boet just put BFG M/T KM2 on his pajero. The road noise is negligible and the grip is almost identical. If it's not a commuter, go for the muds IMHO.

Marius, it's also my daily drive. Problem is that tyre road noise gets louder with wear. Probably more so with muds.
Maybe somebody with muds and more than 50k can give their input.
I remember Gerrit had Cooper STTs on his Gen3 that was too loud for his liking.
The monocoque design of the Gen 3 has harmonics that won't affect a ladder chassis car.
