Even if it was not staged, it proves absolutely nothing.
The chimney was weakened to the point of collapse. The slightest nudge would have made it topple over.
I think the Amaroks had to run to keep the ropes reasonably taut, but even that was not successful.
(The way the ropes are tied to the chimney top does not look like the way a rigger would do it).

Clever move, but I agree with Gerhard - the structure was weakened at the base to (just before) the point of collapse. I do think a fair amount of torque was needed to initiate the pull, but as Johan said - 2 Pajeros would have done it!
We once demolished three stacks (chimneys) of Eskom Hex River Power Station (Worcester) by a similar way, supporting the structure with wood, and burning the wood so it could fall.

Yeah I also think bullsh%t baffles brains effect. The angle of lean already suggests it is near point of collapse and need just a little bit of persuasion.
Maybe they should look at the Ford video about the Locomotive pull and learn something.
