Got a warm welcome and cup of hot coffee from from our host Riaan (Chairman of the Jeep Club). After wards we set of Riaan with the Willys, Me with the PJ, Irus with his GWM Steed, Killian with his Jeep and Dominique with his Jeep. on the trail.
Keep in mind that Jeep club have taken over the trail only about 3 months back so the PJ got a couple more new 'Bush Pen stripes"
small river crossing, its winter, it can be a serious crossing and tricky climb out the other side in the rainy season

The you start with the climb to the top of the rocky out crop over looking the area

Couple of nasty rocks to navigate on both sides

Twisting a turning up

then we approached a huge rock pile. looks like a 20ton truck just dump its load in the middle of the track on a right hand turn.
No pictures were taken as both Riaan and Swambo were busy spotting and navigating up and over this rock pile and the camera were in the car.
We drove on and later on got to a rather trick decent, long narrow down hill over loose boulders.

slowly does it

Riaan did very nice doing the spotting and guiding us safely down this boulder ridden hill side. its steeper than it looks.

Then the fun started, Riaan got the Willys stuck in a small river bed. Then called in the cavalry from the other Jeep members busy working on the Training track to help him out. But the rescue jeep didnt have traction on the other side as this was muddy black turf snotty little uphill
and both together werent going anywhere so bring in the PJ as i was next inline. Hooked up the towrope and slowly started to back up, concentrating as not to reverse into a tree, i slowly got the wills out of its own dug holes.

slowly reversing next moment. WHOOOOO!!!! STOOOOPPPPP!!!! whistles and bells. so i stopped, didnt even feel that i was pulling anything. but as you can see Alan in the recovery jeep got a bit nervous as i was busy pulling the second Jeep into the river. you can see the rear end appearing. We didnt remove the recovery strap between the Jeep and Willys. To be fair, i was on solid dry ground and the jeep on the other side on a muddy snotty uphill

So in the end the two Jeeps got out. i went through the stream and then got the call from Swambo the Memory card is full.

After this we went to the Lapa, started up the fire and had a braai and good laughs and chatted about the day.
this was how i spend my Saturday
