Pajero Outside Temp Gauge

Hi Guys,
I am new to this site.I will introduce myself as Chris.
I have a 1999 Pajero GlS LWB which I have bought a few months ago and had a few things done as far as regular maintenance like shocks,belts,cv's and all seals on the motor.
Can someone maybe explain where is the outside thermometer siutated as mine picks up heat from the motor and shows truly high outside temperatures.
I had a look see but can not find it
I think the guys who took out the motor probably had it placed too close to the motor after installation again.
