2002 Gen3 3.5GDi Fuel Filler Neck - Replacement Advice

Hi All,
Last year i noticed the fuel filler pipe that runs from the filler cap down the inside of the rear arch and into what appears to be another flexi pipe into the fuel tank was starting to corrode. I applied a rust convertor and hammerite but this winter has taken its toll and the rot has returned with a vengance!
Rather than let the pipe continue to rot and risk the dreaded stuff dropping into the fuel tank and starting blocking the micro filters i thought i would try and look at replacing the pipe. Not sure on the connections as i have not removed the inner plastics wheel arch to look as i do not think i want to disturbe the mud and rot holding the pipe on (which is what i think i am going to find !)
Has anyone done this ?
How easy is it?
Has anyone a drawing or any advivce?
Once again all help, suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance.
