Blister - Auto Transmission Memory?

Hi all,
I've been told that the 1999 Blister Autobox do not have a driving style memory.
But listen to this and tell me what you guys think (especially the Owners of Blister 3.5 Auto models).
This morning I was at a busy robot crossing and when I decided to take the gap I floor the pedal to the metal but all I got was a slow moving tank with the revs not going much higher than 3500 before it changed to 2nd gear.
I stopped down the road on a straight and floored it again with the same result.
Then I flipped the "Power" switch (on the autobox) to on and tried it again. This time it pulled away like a jet and the revs went to just short of 6000.
So I stopped again and this time switched the Power switch to off again.
But this time I got very good pull-away and the revs going to 5000.
I tried it a few times and without fail it performed great.
Could it be that due to the fact that I've been driving like a "human being" for the last few days that it built up a memory which was cleared by the "Power" switch?
Thanks
Pierre
