Rocker arms
The balance belt on my 4D56 2.5 TD broke and got in caught by the timing belt! The 4 inlet rocker arms are broken. Apparently the are sacrificial and break to avoid further damage to the valves and pistons.

How much are the rocker arms? Is there anything else that would need to be replaced or checked in such instances?

Re: Rocker arms
soetimes the rocker arms go, sometimes the cam caps go, sometimes the camshaft goes.

The things to check that may have gotten damaged is the piston tops, cracked camcaps or a bent rod. (The bottom end on a diesel is usually safe due to it's strong build).

I would junk the head and get a new one, move the valves and cams over (after they have been checked to be straight and within spec) clean and inspect the piston tops closely (hopefully with UV dye to expose cracks under UV light, and do a comparative compression check when assembled to rule out a bent rod.
