Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to ask if anyone removes the ABS fuse when 4x4íng.
I find that the vehicle tends to lock up alot when 4x4íng and rolling backwards and i thought removing the ABS fuse would help.
Any thoughts?

How do you mean lock up? The ABS has the opposite effect that when you are on the brakes it releases the brakes when loading traction

Hi Simon,
I have found on a couple of occasions now, and not always with me driving, that if i attempt an incline and i dont make it or reversing down and i hit the brakes, they go extremely hard and the tyres lock up and the vehicle slides.

That's nothing to do with ABS. If you're on the brakes and the vehicle slides its simply a loss of traction. Can you feel the pulsing of the ABS in the pedal?
You should be going down under power with only the occasional assistance, although the low range on the Pajero isn't the lowest and because the petrol's engine braking isn't that gear you'll need the brakes a little more
What tyre pressures are you running BTW?

Hi Simon,
pressure is 0.8 in sand and 1.5 on rock.
The brake pedal does pulsate slightly, but it goes rock hard that you cant even push it in...

Hi Karoo,
I think you might have a brake problem. I would suggest check your sensors and maybe do a complete brakefluid replacement which is not difficult to do - just get somoene with strong legs to pump and off you go. I use Castrol dot 4 full synthetic brakefluid in mine.
Also check underneath the ABS pump is a earth connection clean that as mine did not want to work at one stage and found earthing to be the problem.
