About a month ago someone disconnected the battery of our gen3 LWB for a long weekend. (long story why it was done) Since then the clock will not retain new setting and the compass is completely out. Could it be that the computer needs re-booting? Can anyone help? Thanks.

I also disconnected my battery a while ago, but it seems like the all the way to the left to set the clock doesn't work. Maybe some one can help with this as well.

Not sure which model Mitsu radio yours has, but on some models it had a default setting to correct the time automatically from info it receives from RDS radio stations in the area that it picks up. Unfortunately it seems that some radio stations in SA do not have the correct setting on their data sent out and thus this leads to your clock constantly being reset to an incorrect time.
The solutions is to read your manual and switch of the setting where it auto corrects from radio info and then set the clock to the correct time.
IIRC the radio will show a setting like CTS on its screen if this setting is active, which is what you want to switch off.
By disconnecting the battery the default factory setting probably switched this setting on again.

I think Cats has the clock issue spot on. The manual is very clear on how to disable the CT (I think) setting.
The compass issue is most likely the magnetic deviation that has to be set - also in the manual
I understand compass and magnetic deviation settings, but the way the manual describes it had me very confused. My advice is to get the car pointing perfectly North and then set the deviation. You'll soon see if you are close (the correct direction setting) or way off - (the wrong direction setting)

See also this thread regarding the setting of the clock. It saved my bacon a while back....
