Hi Everyone,

I need to fit new tyres on my Gen 3 LWB, but can't really decide what to fit.
BFG would be my first choice, but my wallet doesn't agree!

I can get Silverstone AT-117(looks like BFG All-terrain) and Hankook RF10, for almost the same price.

Any suggestions as for which is the better tyre? I know Hankook had really good reviews in the US.

I use Hankook Dynapro on my D4D 4x4 and have recieved very good service from them.
The last set was changed at 80000 km and there were still about 4 mm thread left. As far as off road goes I think the sidewall thickness might be a issue.
I have seen somebody commented here a while ago about Hankook had a problem in the Richtersveldt.
Maybe you should try Goodyear Wrangler as it is a carbon reinforced sidewall which give a bit more strength. I have those on my 3.5 Blister but have not done any serious off road like sharp rocks etc. The price was excellent though.

Which Good Years should I look at? I had a set of RT/SA's on a Disco 2 a few years back, but ended up replacing them after about 20 000km's due to cracks in the sidewalls.(and I never even used it off-road!) But, price does matter, so if I get good feedback on them, I will definitely consider them!
I see you're not far from me, where do you get tyres from?
