Fold away function on wing mirrors

Gents
I discovered (by accident

) that my Gen4 can fold the wing mirrors away by double clicking the lock button on the remote control. Unfolding is done by double clicking the unlock
My question is the following: does the Gen3 operate in the same way? I never tried it when I owned them, so won't know

I just checked. Mine doesn't.
Maybe the facelift gen3 does.....

Thanks Marius. I'd really feel silly if I never discovered it, if it was available.

Its a nice feature but I prefer the manual. I have bumped into mine by accident and if it was the newer motorised ones I may have damaged it.
My passat had a nice feature where the mirrors automatically aimed down slightly when the car is in reverse and the return to normal when de-selecting reverse.

Since when were the mirrors electrical adjustable? Mine is a 2002 and are electric and can fold in by way of a little switch next to the adjuster.

mine is electrically adjustable but if you want to pull it's ears flat you have to do it by hand.

2005 3.2DiD Auto GLX (small round fog-lights in front bumper), electrically folds flat/open by pushing the button grouped with the mirror adjustment buttons, not from remote.

Piri,
Yip, I don't fiddle and I'm not too good at reading the manual either. Must say - that doesn't sound too clever when I think about it

. Note to self: put manual on bedside table today
In my defence, I have a Heyens workshop manual on the Gen3 which I studied from cover to cover.
Marius,
I wonder what happens when the later mirrors get bumped? I'm sure they will still have a "give" mechanism.
A buddy (who is a house guest at the moment while the paragliding competition is in town) drives a 2007 Gen4 GLX. I asked him last night if he knew about the function. He read about the mirrors in the manual (but then it is his 1st Pajero

). He also says it automatically folds out after start-up and drive off at about 20km/h.

I should hope so. I doubt you'd want to find out it doesn't the hard way.
