Due for new tires

My PJ is now due for new tires. I have 2005 3.2 DiD.
Standard 17" PJ RIMS but 245/70/17 tires fitted by previus owner.
I'm playing with the idea to either fit the standard 265/65/17 or go a bit bigger to 265/70/17 or even 285/65/17 or 285/70/17 if one can get it.
What would the pros and cons be going to a 285 instead of a 265?

thanks

I have been phoning around for quotes on tyres the last month or so and price difference for 265/65/17 and 265/70/17 is about R1500 per tyre.
I can’t justify that cost vs. the lift you’ll get from the 5 in the profile.

(this was for AT tyres)

Have you looked at the TWT Velocity range? I recently fitted 4 (265/65/17) at R1650 per tire (was on special) and so far very happy with them, haven't been offroad as yet.
