Pajero 30th anniversary

Hi all

I was going through some old magazines yesterday, and came across some articles on recent motoring anniversaries (60th of Land Cruiser and 50th of Patrol if memory serves correct). That got me wondering how old the Pajero is.

Read on Wikipedia this morning that the 1st generation Pajero was launched in May 1982, which makes it 30 years old this year.

Was wondering if there are any plans to commemorate this milestone (or were there events held earlier that I just missed)?

I believe they are also building a special edition "off road" Pajero.

Actually, both the Patrol and Cruiser had there 60th anniversaries recently. The respective forums/owners clubs arranged their own celebratory get-togethers (somewhat independent of the manufacturers). I attended the Patrol birthday get-together at Drie Provinsies and it was a fantastic weekend away.

Perhaps the Pajero club could do something similar? It really is great to get to meet fellow fans from all corners of the country and especially so if it is possible to personally meet guys that you already "know" so well from many interactions on the forum.
