Replacement Bumpers & Airflow to intercooler on 3.2did

I have recently heard that it is a possibility that certain replacement bumpers can reduce necessary airflow to the intercooler / engine cooling system and thus reduce engine life considerably. The deduction has been made without any study or evidence. Any knowledge on the topic would be appreciated as i am deciding whether to order an ARB Sahara bar or wait for the new ONCA bar recently featured in Wheels magazine. I love the look of the ARB on the Paj, but perhaps the ONCA bar clearly allows adequate airflow ?.?

The bigest problem is not the airflow through th cooler but the protection offered to the cooler
It is two fold
1 stone damage The cooler is close to the ground and if there is not enough protection it will get damaged
2 The protection of the cover plate give to the cooler It is betweenm the weels and gets damaged when youi drop the front vertcally onm a roch or youi hit a rock head on (I just paid R6K ) There must be good clearance between the plate and cooler because of it touch the vibrationm will damage the cooler It is damn frgile and damn expensive to replace

Sorry to all of you that have to struggle through my ramblings

I commented on the position of the intercooler and the damage that can be caused to it
Attached is 2 photographs of two coolers The worst one is one that I paid for and the second is a sample that I got from someone

On the one you can clearly see the damage caused by dropping it on a rock but the second one is "to my mind" damaged possibly caused by the safety plate on the bottom touching the cooler causing vibrations and as a result cracking it

When we hit a rock on the standard safety plate it gets damaged by bending it upwards The space between the cooler and the plate is small causing the plate to touch the cooler

I suggest that you owners out there Check that spacing and if it is bent use a big hammer and a lot of gentle persuasion to rectify this little problem As I said I paid about R6.4K to fix mine The next big expense will be a THICK and strong cover plate
Ps While you have the cover plate open check the rubbers on the stabilizer and give it some rubber ghries (the red stuff) These rubbers gets damaged by running dry and may cause alignment problems If it is dry and damaged you will hear a clacking noise when you brake

My concern is that the bumper i choose does not reduce airflow to the intercooler.
