Hand Brake Light keeps on

Hi Guys...

Hope I'm posting in the right place...

This is just a quick one, for the last week or so, the handbrake light on my paj doesn't go off when the hand brake is down, and the car is moving, So I just want to ask if any one has seen this before and if so, is it a really bad problem? or is it because the brake fluid is low or the pads need to be replaced? The brake pads are going to be done anyway, because they have started squeaking, and as I hate squeaking pads, they will be done...

So yes... Is this a major issue or not, and can this be easily resolved?

Thank you in advance

Start by checking brake fluid level.

Hi Insidious
My 2000 blister had the same problem but was solved when the b rake pads were changed. The sensor that triggers the light is about half way through the pads depth and so the light comes on long before the pads start going metal to metal. I thing I drove in excess of 30000 kms before they were replaced. But make sure. If you are going to replace them anyway then your problem could be solved.
