Congrats, she is a beauty. I see you plan some electric work shortly. Maybe consider the setup that I did on my Gen4. I first had a BIG wire from the battery to a seperate aux fuse box with 6 fuses wired up straight from battery and 6 working with ignition on. This meant that after all your electronic toys are added that all the fuses will be in one location and it is easy to find it, whereas if you start adding along as I did in my Gen3 you end up with fuses all over the show and no certainty of what does what. I placed the auxilary fuse box in the passenger footwell underneath the cubbyhole where it is out of site, but still easy to get to. Shout if I must do photo to explain.

As mentioned on another forum, pm me if you get to Snorkel time, I have done loads of research on Gen4 and snorkel and it is currently a bit of a hassle in South Afica to fit, hopefully will change as more people fit them.

Hi everyone,

Yes the snorkel is definately on my shopping list, as for the fuses setup i've learnt from past experience installing car sound since 1988 to keep fuses in easy to reach places. The roofrack is on and busy finding a route for the FM's areal wire to channel into the vehicle  . Any ideas? :? Cats?

Cleanest way to get wire from roofrack into cab without drilling holes is to run it next to roofrails on front of vehicle and then down inside the rubber strip around the front windshield. It has a nice big lip which fold away and can be used to hide the wire in. Once at bonnet level you route it into engine bay and then to the big rubber wire harnass entry on firewall (just in front of passenger side) into cabin if required. Is this what you asked?

Here is what I did on mine.

and here is my fusebox location under the cubbyhole

OK, so she's had a couple of changes. This is what my baby looks like now. Were leaving for Nam on 12 June doing a 4 week trip from Augrabies to Spitskoppe.

Done sofar since prev pic: custom drawer system, trailer charging system, dual battery, FM and 29mhz radio's, roofrack, KC on roofrack and dual jerrycan holder. Next to come Airtec snorkel if I can find me one :?
