hi guys had a problem with my pajero not displaying its lights on the dash and found it to be globes so fixed and took it out to test. started on the track and got to a stage where i needed to engage 4x4 so put it into low range with gearbox lock and stared to climb up the mountain which has been dug up by some previous guy so got into a cross axel this is when i noticed that my super select lights were flashing so i reversed down and drove around a bit to see if it would engage nothing so tried to put a bit of stress on the shafts again and attempted the climb again and got a bit of wheel spin of the front right wheel meaning it is engaged but display showing it is not so not sure if the autohubs are a bit sticky, also tried to engage R/D lock and this would also not engage could this be because the G/box did not lock.

thanks

Hi Clinton

Put the gearbox in Neutral, select low range, wait one or two seconds, light will stop flashing and lights will stop flashing, all 4 green lights should be on, plus orange diff light.

Hope that helps

My observation.

After I rolled my Bakkie en route to East London, my wife had to come collect me in the 'sport.
She wisely engaged 4H on a construction section in the rain.

But it would not stop flashing lights for the next 150 km of tar after shifting back.

After being picked up at hospital, lights still flashing.
We drove a bit more, then stopped at a garage, reversed, jerked a bit, and it disengaged.

Noticed this is a new thing in general.
Needs a bit of violence to get it out, and gravel.

Then it occurred to me, I have new tyres up front, and only 40% left on back.
So that means, on tar there is constant tension in the drive train..
Gravel , or a slippery garage forecourt allows slip.

So, new tyres all round only?

Normally I get this right, but crappy AT/SA tyre got a hole in the tread on normal gravel.
Finances dictated two new HP's on front only.

So, four BF's now....R12k from Tiger
Ouch

Had exactly the same problem after fitting a spare after a puncture. The spare was the standard 265/65/17 wheras my other tyres were 275/65/17. The spare was well worn, the other tyres new. Once I replaced the spare, all was well again.
