Induction kit on Gen2 v6??

Hi all..I need some help pleeeease.
I have recently bought a 1994 3.0 v6 LWB pajero(I think you refer to it as the Gen 2?)Im not planning to take it off road and im wanting to get more 6 cylinder sound coming from the car.
I will at some stage fit a 63mil xhaust system and removing one of the boxes.
But Im also looking for an induction kit to fit too,so there will be more v6 sound in the meantime.I took off the std ind pipe and pannel airfilter and noticed that the std pipe is a square shape where the filter box gets attached.All I want to do is remove the filter box and fit a cone filter somewhere....
I doubt anyone here has done this as its probably against the laws of offroading,,,,but any help would be much appreciated.thanks
