hi Guys got the biggest shock today, got a quote from a company in Bots for a 8 day self drive through Khutse game reserve our plan was to enter the south gate and drive up to Khutse pan and spend 3 nights there and then drive up to khankhe pan and stay 4 nights and then leave we would be 5 adults and 4 kids (under 4 years) they want to charge us a little more than 12000 pula for this and from what i have read on other forums there is hardly anything there eg.water points on maps that are no longer in use,long drop toilets, bucket showers and no power points. dont get me wrong i can rough it with no problems but just think the price is an over kill for what you get and i am not willing to pay that much i love the bush but it seems to be turning in to a big money making scheme which is wrong.

can any one give me some advice on were my family and i can go and enjoy the bushveld for a couple of days camping without paying a large some of money prefferably Bots but any info will be appreciated thanks

Thats massive - seems strange... are you booking through Bigfoot tour operators?

On our trip to Moremi, and Nxai pan (not the cheapest in my opinion) we are paying around BWP120 per day per person, and BWP50 per day per vehicle. (thats a lot less than you are paying).


Still, one of the best places for me is Moghotho campsite, in the Kwai community area. I recall it was closer to BWP60 per person, but the wildlife was unbelievable!

Downside is just no facilities, but thats similar to Khutse anyway

I had a booking in Khutse for this coming school holiday through BigFoot Tours. Cost was P150 pppd and P75 per child.

Decided to rather cancel it for now as they did not have enough space for our entire group. Going to Kruger instead.

The P150/p from Bigfoot does not include the Park fee of P120/person plus the P50/day/car.
