Is there an aircon filter for the rear aircon on the 2005 3.2 Did? I found that driving gravel roads and having the rear aircon / airflow on, a lot of dust enters the cabin. I know the front one do have a filter and cleaned this a couple of times.

Jaco,

Good question, after cleaning and replacing the filters on my Gen 3, I still get fond memories of Namibia from my AC especially when switching on the rear, sometimes like a small dust cloud comes out there. There is a possibility there is 1, most likely in the rear, will start looking or a filter now too. Cheers

David

Looking at the ductwork in the manual (chapter 55A page 55) it looks like the rear aircon unit pulls clean air from inside the passenger compartment and there is no filter shown in chapter 55A nor in ch55B.

Thanks Andrew

Any chance you can scan those pages and post it please?
If it is pulling air from the cabin, then it doesn't make sense where the dust comes from. I run that unit on the open road for my little one that is in the back and have no issues, but when I hit dirt road, the dust cloud enters the cabin. I then switch off the rear unit and only leave the front one running until we on tar again

The suction side comes from two slotted vents below the front of the back seat. Delivery is via the 4 roof-mounted vents.

The full workshop manual is on this site at Download manuals. Select the last one = Pajero - Gen3.

Here is some info about the rear vent flaps and dust problems: How to fix dust the non mma way

But nowhere can I find if these connect up with any ductwork (so presumably that means they don't). I think they equalise cabin pressure - except when they fail, which is when they become dust inlets rather than air outlets.
