BEWARE of Cape Offroad Centre-Jaco !!!!!!!!!!
Hi guys and girls.....
This is just a heads up to warn all members to stay away from JACO TERBLANCHE who owns Cape Offroad Centre !!!!!

At first he seems a genuine guy, untill you have a problem with an item you purchased from him.
Terrible customer service with ignoring phonecalls, voice messages and sms es.

Here is THE story:

He sold me a set of 4 mud tyres which I had fitted proffesionally to my rims. The tyre fitting guy showed me a tear in the side wall of one of the tyres and said it may work with a tube.So I took his advice and we fitted a tube.
The next day whilst driving around a corner, the back of the car swayed,so i pulled over to check what was wrong ,with my heart racing madly!
The tear had opened up further on the side wall of the tyre.
I had to refit the original wheels and tyres back on to the car.
I called Jaco and told him what had happened. He agreed to meet me at Goodhope tyres on the wednesday when i was off.He never came!!!
After many calls,I finally get hold of him and then we made arrangements for the next wednesday to meet.He never came!!!
Here is the e mail I sent him:

Hi Jaco.
I assume you recieved my missed calls, voice messages and text messages today.
We made arrangements to meet at Goodhope tyres on Voortrekker road this afternoon at 3:30pm.I waited forever for you to arrive but you never showed, hence all the missed calls and messages.
We were supposed to meet last week already but you chose to ignore my emergency call to you.
One would think that running your own bussiness you would be more helpfull to your customers and not sell them damaged goods.
Besides the fact that the tyres you sold me were damaged, you still do not want to sort out the problem.
The tyres were for my wifes car.Im sure you are aware that tyres that are damaged, especially on the side wall are very dangerous to use.My wife could of had a blow out and it could of ended up being a fatal accident.
Luckily I was driving when the tyre broke and that it was on the back wheel and not the front so I was able to keep control of the car.

Cape Town is a small place and the 4x4 community especially.
I will ask you one more time to refund me my R1600 and to take back your damaged tyres that you sold me.
If you do not do this I will take the matter further. This is not a threat,Im merely giving you a heads up.

At times like these No one can afford bad publicity or unhappy customers!!

The ball is in your court.

It is a pitty the situation has ended up like this as I could have seen myself visit your shop for prepping my Pajero.

Please reply as soon as possible.....,If you wish to.

Jonathan

Im not a rich guy but managed to buy myself a 1995 Pajero in the hopes of joining in some fun on the weekends.
This is not a very pleasant First experience with upgrading my Pajero. It will however not stop me from wanting to experience offroading.

I hope this story ,in some way, will help or warn any body wanting to purchase goods from Jaco.

If you read this Jaco-REFUND me ,otherwise legal action will be taken.!!!

This isn't the first time I have heard complaints from guys that have had work done here. Being ignored when you have a problem with the works seems standard too. Go to his shop, its the only way to get results apparently.

Pls keep us posted Hondathan, and good luck getting better service.
Re: BEWARE of Cape Offroad Centre-Jaco !!!!!!!!!!
This is so sad. Can't believe the amount of business owners that run away from their responsibilities. This forum has never been one for trashing of businesses but there has been a few posts in this regards the last couple of months. Really worries me, as most of these were about places that had very good reputations in the past.

I also had a bad experience when buying from one of these recommended sources and when the part was not working had to spend hours on the phone, eventually had to threaten with lawyers, and then phone got put down. Not a nice experience. Luckily it was resolved, and therefore I never named them. BUT I will be very careful in future when dealing with them.

Hope you get your money!
