Hi gents,i wanted to trade in my gen 2 2.8 swb for a gen 2 2.8 lwb but business took a hit and until i get back on my feet im keeping her.
she had been stolen a week ago but i recovered her and they stole my tool box, entire sound system and trashed her so the front left side suspension is doing some funny noises and she is not tracking straight.
So i will want to do her a proper 200k service, i think that the following need to be changed at this service.can someone please give me ball park figures for these? can i buy the parts at midas/autozone in malelane or nelspruit(mpumalanga)
Our local mozambican agents no longer keep stuff for the gen2 and when they have them it costs the same as buying another car...
So this is my idea:
1.Flush the cooling system.
2.replace hoses
3.New heater core (i found coolant on the passenger footwell and after blanking the pipes that go to the heater core there is no more coolant loss)
4.stabilizer links,
5.Cv's
6.all boots (one is thorn and when i engage 4wd it makes a grinding noise)
7.shocks
8.suspension bushes
9.wind the torsion bars for aditional 5 cms clearance (ask your lady if 5 cms do not make a difference...
)
10.water pump
11.Timing Chain and all acessories
12.Belts
13.Remove head to check state so a new gasket will be necessary
14.Do the wastegate mod for a bit more pull power
15.Thermostat (im running without one- the last one ordered from midas was very small compared to the one that we took out of the engine)
16.Tie rods
17.Upper and lower ball joints
So please can i get some prices?
Me and my mechanic will do this in stages, so where do you suggest we start?
Maybe leave the thermostat, timing kit and water pump, all belts to be done together?
Damn a new car sounds right...
Thanks in advance.
