Hi i was checking my favorite used car site looking for a paj and noticed that they have a few Gen 3 and 4 with the 6g72 engine (3ltr petrol) How mad is that?

I didnt even knew they had made them.

Does any one have info on this? is this the same reliable, cheap to maintain as in the Gen 2?

The prices seem right: around R50.000 delivered to MAputo, even though just in taxes, registration etc etc i would end up paying another R50k (moz govt makes a lot on cash on imported car taxes...)

I suppose for the money on a gen 3 that is not a bad price?

What would be the advantage of buying the 3.5ltr GDI?

Over here mechanics dont even wanna touch the 3.5!! and you see more of them parked than driving...

The gen2 and gen3 6g72 engine is a very reliable albeit thirsty unit. We have a few of those jdm 2008 and 2009 models all clocking close to 150k without any issues.

THe 6g75 3.5v6 gdi is a picky setup. Our dirty fuels tend to render it limp. I dont know why. Just steer away from it.

I see it is much cheaper having it deliverd to South Africa + Durban And at those prices it's worthwhile bringing them in and stripping for spares!

But will S.A customs even allow you to bring it to be striped?

Yes its cheap to bring it to durban but for us in Moz then you would have to pay port taxes plus 300 dollars to get it delivered to Maputo and pray that you are lucky no one steals anything in the durban port. Just not worth it
