Im looking at getting a Pajero IO the 1.6i 3door year 2001
for a offroad vehicle , and was wanting to know if anyone could answer a few things for me?
1)Are parts available for the vehicle?
2)Are the parts expensive?
3)Are there any common problems with the vehicle?
4)How good is the vehicle off-road il be in the dunes and off-road 4x4 events for fun?
5)Any advice on what to look for when going to look at one to buy?
Any help would be appreciated

I have a Pajero IO 1.8 5 door and very happy with the vehicle which I have had for 5 years. I have been blessed not to have to replace any body parts on the vehicle.
Certain parts one has to unfortunately buy from the stealers and depending what you need to buy. About a month ago I paid R500.00 for two spark plug cords from the stealers and could only get from them. A common problem that a lot of people on the forum seem to have is 4x4 select lights that keep flashing, just ignore that. The IO is a very capable little vehicle and can go the same route as your Suzuki Vitara's. I put BF Goodriches on the vehicle which gave it a extra 50mm lift.

What sort of consumption do you get on your io?
As thats my only worry at the moment.
