My radio's electrical antenna is making weird noises when it pops out. So I bought the insert from the agents (see pic below).

Any ideas what the process/method is to replace it?

Fairly sure the knob on the top twists off and then you slide the antenna off the top part and just reuse the top part and the nylon cord. alternatively you have to dismantle the antenna completley.

I doubt it this part thats making noise though.

Its done in 3.5 minutes as follows:
1. Undo the nut at the top of the fender.
2. Get someone to start the antenna rising by switching on the radio.
3. As it rises grab the telescopic part and lift it by hand until all the nylon is out while the motor pushes it out at the same time.
4. Now thread the new nylon down the hole with the teeth facing the front headlight.
5. As it starts to stick switch off the radio and the motor will start pulling down the new antenna.
6. Guide by hand so it all goes in all the way.
7. Put back the nut.

I fixed it - was easy enough, after I took apart the wheel arch cover and the aerial motor which was not needed

Simply unscrew the silver cap screw at the top of the aerial (as in the pic)- then turn on your radio so it pushes the aerial out. Pull on the aerial as the motor runs and pushes the aerial out - it only stops when it feels opposite applied pressure. Now turn off your car's ignition, otherwise the aerial motor will keep on running.

Insert the new aerial rod (with little teeth facing to the front of the car), turn on your ignition and then turn off your radio so it can pull in the new rod. Guide it nicely until snugly in it's little hole. Then put back and tighten the silver cap screw.
