Stone Guards

Yes I certainly use extra heavy stone guards attached to the tow bar when towing on dirt roads. They are obviously removed again when home.
It makes a huge difference and almost completely reduces the noise of flying stones against your rear tail gate.

They are attached to the tow bar to keep them away from the wheel. If these are installed inside the wheel arch, chances are it will be caught between the tyre and mud/sand when reversing out of a sticky situation. This could result in having to replace your rear bumper as it then gets pulled off at the attachment points also used for the flaps. Ask me, I've gone through that.

Thanks for your reply Bigwill.

How do you mount the guards on your towbar, I was told that a bicylcle rack also makes a good mount and is easy to remove when not towing.

Ja hierdie is baie effektief. Ek hulle n paar jaar gelede by Midas raak geloop.
