Hey guys, I know this subject has been covered on other threads, However I cannot find any clear instructions on how to determine if the electronic panel behind the dash cluster should be replaced or not. R2225.00 for a new one so I want to be 100% sure its causing the problem. anyone know how to definitively test it?

Hi,

Mine did the same thing, Sac in Centurion put a new unit in for me and if I remember correctly it was about R500.

Maybe give them a call and find out.

Thanks,
Was that R500 for the parts or just for the labour or both?

It was just for the part, couldn't tell you how much the labour was because it was done with a few other things also.

good luck

There is a very nice video on youtube that explains this process and a DIY repair. Cant access it right now but do search for "temp gauge cluster repair mitsubishi montero pajero" and you should get it.

Hello from Stockholm, Sweden !
Probably no need to replase the curcuitboard , just resolder the R10 resistor on the bord.
I had the same problem.Removed the curcuitboard and took it to a Place where they repair cellphones, because the R10 resistor is very small. He resoldered it, i put it togheter and problem fixed!
:D
There is lots of information on the Australian pajero forum.

That is a Good video, i used it ...but im 99% sure that you just have to resolder R10 resistor.the Money is nothing compared to a New circuitboard.....pull it out, go to someone who knows how to solder tiny things.it sägs R10 on the resistor, cant miss it....did mine at the cost of a few beers...
