I am looking to buy some black rims and nice rubber for my 1999 Pajero 3.5 V6 in the near future. Are there any members here who have done so already? If so, please post some pics, it would be nice to see what it looks like. It introduces some aggressiveness to vehicle which is what I am after.

I am looking into geting s set of mickey thomson side biter rims 31x10.5x15's along with either a new set of BF Goodridge 31's or MT Baja Radial MTZ's also 31x10.5x15.
They look like nice rims going @ R1800 a rim. I think it would look awsome on my Pajero.

I'm not convinced Dark rims look good on a dark vehicle, but in isolation they look nice. Although I don't think the chrome caps work anymore.

What did you paint the rims with?

I wouldn't powdercoat rims.. too prone to chipping and then starts looking scruffy. Paint can be touched up.

Alloy wheels are usually painted IAC, making the colour change easy.
It is widely accepted that Hammerite is one of the best solutions for wheels.

I actually like the "tough" look of black wheels.

Which makes it slightly more difficult to "undo"

Hammerite was sprayed on. It looks much better "in the flesh". The chrome caps compliment the side-steps.

I saw a metallic green Disco with black rims on - looked stunning....

Am tempted.

Nico, can you describe your prep etc. Did you take the tyres off? Sanding?
