Hi I have a glx 2004. The oil warnong light has been coming on just after starting but goes off shortly afterwards. I am towing a big trailer an think it has something to do with the work the engine is doing before it is properly warm. I check the oil level every mornong before starting to ensure it is fine.

Has any one had similar issues with the warning loght and is it something to worry about?

There are two oil warning lights on this model. The red one indicates low oil pressure, and is cause for concern. The amber one indicates the oil level is low but only requires a top up to fix. This is only a low risk warning light. Just like the fuel light. We found before that these models require oil levels to be about 1 cm above the full mark, else this light comes on when the oil is cold or when you travel up an inclination.

Hi thanks for the response. Yes it is the amber oil level light so I have not been to worried as I check the level every am when I am on long trips and it has been fine. Will keep it slightly higher than the mark and see if this helps.

Could be a faulty censor, had a similar issue, "serviced" the censor and working perfectly now...
