I have a 08 Lwb 3.2 Gls Pajero, the Paj was bought Oct 2008.

What I notice about this Pajero was that it have the mag wheels of the 09 onwards and there are no rails on the roof but it does have the wind reflector on top of the rear door.

Now what makes me wonder is that a friend of mine got a 07 Gen4 Paj (commonrail) and he bought a dastech chip, the one that got the right plugs for the ECU and dont need any wire spliting, he bought the chip second hand but told me that the plugs doesnt fit and that SAC had to split the wires and solder the chip in, now that same chip just plug into my 08 Paj ECU (Right hand side under the cubbie)without any wire cuting.

So clearly they must have diffrent ECU's but acording to me the only diff came in in 2009 when the upgraded 3.2 came out,

It doesnt bother me much but the only concern I got is that I took my Paj in so that they could re calibrate my injectors and when the maccie plugged the computer in he set it for 2007 onwards, it done the calibration and the computer said it was done.

Will the calibration be done correct if the ECU diff from 07 to 08 ?

Does anyone know the diffrence between the 07 / 08 /09 Pajero's and their ECU's

I think no one answers as no one knows. I will chance an educated guess and say that the ecu is the same and that there might only have been a plug added. Have you first hand seen that his does not have this plug?

No I did not first hand see that the plugs diff on the 07 Paj but I know for sure that the dasteck conetctors that plug direct into my 08 Paj is the same as the conectors that have to be solder in the 07.

It is so easy to un plug the ECU and plug the dasteck harnas in that I dont think anyone will do the extra work to solder the wire's in.

The plugs conect direct to the ECU, so there cant be a extra adaptor or anything,

So lets say my 08 Pajero ECU needs to be replaced, then I cant just go and replaced it with a 07 common rail ECU box becuase the plug's on the wiring is not the same,

Are you based in RSA? You mentioned "(Right hand side under the cubbie)" do you have a left hand drive vehicle?

Did you buy the Pajero new? I have only seen the deflector on the rear door on imported models, commonly found in Namibia etc. In that case models might differ drastically.

I have a 07 Gen 4, and the Dastek chip simply plugs in.

Corection, lefthand side, I bought the Paj secondhand with 72 000 km on but the first owner bought it new from Mitsh Rustenburg, when I asked the owner why there isnt rails on the roof but a wind reflector he told me that he bought it like that and that the agents told him that it came from the factory like that.

On my Gen4 the dastek also just plug in but on my friends 07 Gen4 the same dastek chip had to be solder in, so there must be a diff in the plug's,

Now what bother me is that I had my 08 Gen4 injectors re calibrate with the dianostic software and the car feels a bit lazy after the calibration,

When the machanic pluged the dianostic tool in he programed it for 07 onwards and the calibration was done acording to the program, now isnt my Paj maybe a 08/09 (if there's a diff) spec and can the calibration be difrent from the 07, the mechanic told me that they are all the same but I'm not sure about his experience between the different models.
