What is the difference between a 3.2l Pajero Sport engine and a Pajero 3.2 Did engine - why and how the higher output in the Did. Are they not the same engines and can the Pajero Sport motor be modified to achieve the same Power and NM's as the Pajero 3.2 DiD. Just wondering.

Good question. They are defonately the same engine so I think the biggest difference would lie in the turbo and intetcooler setup. By the way is the 3.2 in the Sport also commonrail? I would guess yes but just wondering myself.

I assume the engine is a direct Rail engine. Anyone else throw more light on why the power outputs differ if they are the same engine???

3,2 Engine in the Pajero Sport is a common rail !

Difference could be in size / boost of the turbo, or the intercooler, or just the engine management system. I would like to know as well... :?:

I heard/read somewhere that they are the 'same' but the powers that be thought it best too detune the Pajero Sport because the Pajero (Full Size) was the flagship model and must therefore have more Power & Torque.

I do not know how true this is.
