Can I just swap the gearbox ECU? couple of questions

Hi guys,

my 1997 3500 V6 Petrol 6G74 Gen2 Paj is giving me problems with the auto gearbox. Gearbox doesnt shift down from D, I can force it however to lower gears manually. So mechanically everything works for a couple thou kms already.

Had it at Mitspro standing for nearly 2 months (different story in its own), they checked all sensors etc and concluded that the gearbox ECU must be faulty. They couldn't find a replacement one for weeks, so I took the car back as i needed it for a trip.

Now, my questions:
a) where is the gearbox ECU so that i can get the part No
b) any good tips where i can mailorder a 2nd hand ECU? (OZ? US?)
c) if i have the replacement one in my hands, can I just unscrew/unplug the old one and put the new one in?
d) anyone has a tip for me for a Mitsu specialised garage in Joburg? Can't haul the car to Pretoria every time i need a fixing

finally: will be leaving the country in a couple months, anyone interested in my car? :-)

Thank you very much for your replies!!!!

If you find it, take a pic and post it to me - and a serial number. I might have one available.

Hi
Did you found the transmission ECU. I am doing a 1UZ Lexus engine swap to my 1997 Blister fender Pajero. And wondering how to control the transmission.
Use the Pajero ECU or run it from the Lexus ECU.

I suspect the black ECU under the bonnet is the transmission ECU.
As engine ECU is under the handglove compartment
