Good day all
hope someone can help
took my new 2004 3.2 did swb to atlantis dunes the other day for the 1st time
she was going very well until i wanted to climb out a steepish hill. She was in low range with traction controll on(hasnt got diff lock)and i struggled to climb the hill out. Only after a few attempts i managed. I tried automatic and gears but neither worked. It was as if the car couldnt pic up refs when i stepped on the gas. Otherwise she went like a dream on the sand. Could something be wrong?any advise will be appreciated
regards

Did you try with traction control off? If you can that is.

Switch off TC, everytime it detects wheel spin it reduces engine power and brakes the spinning wheel

Sounds like TC was on... That will decrease engine speed whilst the wheels are spinning.

My Paj performs very well on sand, but not with TC on...

High range with centre diff lock, TC OFF, tires at 1.2 roughly and enjoy

I detect a mild misunderstanding re TC. TC is always active... there is no switch to disable it (unless you pull the relay). Skid control is the one to disable, but the OP was in low range, so SC would have been disabled automatically.
I suspect the car didn't engage LR.

May I ask: did you engage N on the box before switching to LR? Were the wheel indicator lights stable or flashing.

Hi roelfie
I cannot remember if I engaged to N before low range but I'm sure the light f
Ashes in the middle, if I did not engage to n before I engaged to low range would this mean it never engaged in low range? If so why the loss in power
Sorry I'm not to familiar with the vehicle yet
All the other guys mentioned that TC must be off
So as I understand u the tc cannot be disengaged by pressing a button, only the skid controll, if I left the skid controll engaged would this make any kind of difference
