Evening you fundi's . Interesting conversation. When I filled up the Pajero and added the 2SO as usual, the attendant asked whether I do not want the one litre of unleaded petrol to be added. Obviously I declined, but he assured me that most drivers of diesel vehicles add one litre of petrol to the diesel tank. Am I missing something important here. Regards

You are missing destroying your diesel pump. PLEASE don't add petrol to the diesel!

2SO is a can off worms enough... Love to hear the argument for adding petrol!

As far as i know the guys add petrol to diesel when it is extremely cold in order for the diesel not to gel...But I would not ever do this.Rather buy a product NF(nitrous fuel)as an additive

This is the most comprehensive study I have seen regarding adding 2-stroke oil to diesel:

Very interesting read!

Thanks for posting this thoroughly researched debunking of the two stroke oil myth once and for all. As a former oil industry insider it always made me cringe when I read of the widespread practice that seemed to have become the norm amongst the 4x4 community. Confirms the old adage that a little bit of knowledge can be dangerous! I actually drafted a reply to this thread last night covering most of the basic issues but somehow lost the msg before posting it. I was then too frustrated to redo it. But your posting this article is way, way better. Should help to save some engines from dying from two stroke poisoning!
