Pajero Gen 1 parts
Hi, I recently purchased a Gen1. I plan on doing some work on it, bringing it back to its former glory.

Can anyone shed some light on where I can find parts for the Gen1, like a bushing kit for the suspension.

Thanks

Search for Marius 4ePikanini and his dad 4ePajero. They had a gen1 which they were selling parts off.

Re: Pajero Gen 1 parts
Thanks Cats, but I generally looking for new parts. As you know it's old vehicles, so parts from another Gen1 will most probably also be old and on its way out.
Re: Pajero Gen 1 parts
New parts will be difficult to find but you might find that later model Colt/l200 parts or even some from the gen2 Pajero might be a perfect fit.

4EPajero might also be able to point you in the right direction there.

Re: Pajero Gen 1 parts
Yes, sadly the Gen1 has been scrapped (due to a broken gear box) and the parts are being sold bit by bit. :(

I would have seriously considered buying it as a "parts donor", but that is for you to decide.

Two important items to consider:
  1. Many (most) of the parts on my Gen1 have been replaced with new ones, including
    • Suspension bushes
    • idler arm
    • tie rod ends
    • brake calipers from a Gen 2 donor (much larger and better)
    • Bilstein shocks which are still in excellent condition
    • 3-core radiator
    • 2" lift kit
    • etc, etc
  2. If you want to buy new parts, the best is to remove the part and find equivalent Mitsu parts. The Gen1 shares many components with the Colt bakkies of the same years, as well as Gen2 models. You just have to find a spares shop which is prepared to help you with the search.

Re: Pajero Gen 1 parts
Thanks 4ePajero, how much will you be looking to get for your Gen1?
Re: Pajero Gen 1 parts
R12500 and the cost of transport is yours.

To put it in perspective:
The Bilsteins would set you back approx R5000
The 3-core radiator, R3000,
Mags with tyres, R4000?
Interior very good seats and door panels, R6000,
etc
etc
