Good morning.
i am new to the club and would like ti introduce myself and ask for some advice. i have a 2000 model 3.5 GDI pajero 5 door. it is a singapore import that i have bought in Botswana a few months ago. there is a strange vibrating noise when i hit 2000rpm and above this being wether i am driving or stationary. people have told me that it is the propshaft and that it is a engine or gearbox mountingor the universal joints. is there anyone that has experianced the same problem that can give me advice?. when i am driving she purrs like a kitten under 2000rpm but as soon as i hit 2000rpm i feel the vibration.
all advice is appreciated. any links to download a workshop or service manual?
regards

Hi and welcome

Can't believe it is the prop shaft if it occurs while stationery. First step check engine mountings. Good luck.

Had the same issue, and after searching through the forums it came out that it is very common in the Gen 3 Pajero.
Removing the Vibration damper (a square 4Kg metal brick that is mounted at the back of the transmission) will solve the problem.
It is probably mounted there to dampen some resonance vibration when the car is new. Over time the rubber mounts hardens and this damper in fact makes the vibration more noticeable.
Remove it and try. It is mounted by 2 simple to remove bolts.

Here's another thread about it:
