100 000km Rip Off
I am the proud owner of a Pajero GLS LWB. This is my third Mitsubishi and most probably my last. I took my vehicle to the agents Union Motors in Nelspruit for the final service under the service plan. This is the 100 000km service. My cars km reading is 100142. They declined the service because the rule of Mercedes Benz is that if a vehicle is even 1km over the 100 000km service, it will not be serviced under the plan. (1). I did not buy a Mercedes. (2). It was never communicated to me. Why don’t they put a notice up in their fancy reception to inform customers of their rule? This is ridicules, and a very bad reflection on this brand. I have been servicing my vehicle religiously but obviously this is the end to my service record from the agents because I will surely not go back to Union Motors and will be looking at a different brand of vehicle in the future. What p***** me off, I took my vehicle in at about 99700km to attend to something and still nothing was mentioned regarding this ridicules rule.

Take it up with Mitsubishi SA, that is not right.

Re: 100 000km Rip Off
Shawn,
I understand your frustration. I recommend you remain calm and take this up with the dealer principle before you slander them any further in this open forum.

Did you have the service done?
What is the cost of the100k service?

Don't let one dealer mistake ruin your Pajero experience.
Re: 100 000km Rip Off
Same happened to me with a Hyundai Terracan. And the appy who worked on my vehicle (illegally of course) screwed up the timing chain change. Went on stop a day later with a snapped chain. They had to fix it. But the inconvenience over a Christmas break was mine.
Thats why I am driving a Pajero now

This does not surprise me about this particular dealer. Take it up with Mitsu SA and give em horns, their wake up time is long overdue. I refuse to take my car there any more.

Sorry for you.

I had the same happen to me in Port Elizabeth.

It's a nice rule for them, so forget jumping up and down.
Rather use the hours to make more money doing what you love.
The anguish is not worth it, AND you cannot possibly win.
Let it just serve as a warning to others.

Just remember it's the band of band of brothers on the admin side you fighting here, not those engineers who built a fantastic vehicle.

So sad the way things are going.
Good luck.
Re: 100 000km Rip Off
How long did you have to wait for the service appointment? If you tried to make a booking in time but the wait to get the appointment caused you to exceed the kilos restriction, you may have a case. But if you left things to the last minute, whose fault is it?

Re: 100 000km Rip Off
Update:
To the best of my knowledge is this what has transpired.

The maintenance contract for the car in question is still with Mercedes-Benz SA and that contract expired at 100k km. That is cast in stone. The dealer in question and Mitsubishi SA will carry the cost of the service (50/50). I believe it is booked in for today.

I hope the OP can and will confirm that I have been informed correctly.

If my info is reliable, then we should give Mitsubishi and Union Motors some recognition for caring about the customer.

Re: 100 000km Rip Off
Hi
This is my first post. I took my car to this garage 4 times to get it repaired.I was on a 4 month overland trip so was also living out of the car this made no difference to the dealer. They could not get the parts and could not tell me how long it would be to get them. I got so frustrated with that I drove around for ages looking for another garage.
I Found
Silver Arrows Service center ltd tel 0137570022 7 Mystic Crescent Riverside auto Park, Riverside Nelspruit.
They did the job the same day replaced the clutch assembly R6,0000 worked into the night to get the job done. They were very understanding and went the extra mile for me. I spent another 2 months on the road before getting home to Cape Town.
I hope this helps you guys in Nelspruit as i think the dealer is more interested in making money than customer service.
