Pajero Owners Club of South Africa

I am a new member and hope someone can help me to solve the scraping noise I hear when driving. I have a Pajero 3.2 DI-DC GLS SWB A/T. A dealership in Johannesburg suggested that I need to replace the rear drive shafts??? At relatively low speed, the noise is very noticeable, but goes away immediately if I apply my brake. I cannot believe that new drive shafts can solve such a problem. Could it be a setting on the hand brake or rear disc brakes.
If anyone has had a similar experience please tell me how you solved the problem.

My money is on the handbrake setting. Mine started doing that on cold mornings and my indi just set the handbrake cable at the rear wheels.
