Gen3 Suspension spacer dimensions ?

Hi , have been searching a lot on the web and have seen varying numbers for spacer heights front and rear. ie, for the front spacers i have seen 20mm spacer =40mm lift , as well as 17mm spacer =42 mm lift ,etc,,etc.
I am going to make my own spacers for my gen 3 , and if I want a 40mm lift front and rear, what must the spacer heights be?
Also , I don't know if mine has the issue with the too thin circlips on the rear axles. : does 40mm lift pose a problem if this is the case?
Regards

I had front spacers and they were 25mm if I remember correctly. Gave me exactly 50mm lift. So by the power of deduction the 17mm must be for the rear to give 50mm. I'm sure there are others that can give confirmation.

You'll get twice the spacer height in lift.
I installed 30mm spacers, which gave me 60mm in lift, but after a while I noticed that both the ball joints rubber covers were torn and probably if I continue to drive on that lift the ball joints can't hold it more. I removed 10mm from the spacers and i'm convinced with the resulting 40mm lift I have now.
So, just as an advice don't go for more than 25mm spacers. The other suspension components will suffer.

Recently found some info while looking to build my own spacers, rear is does not need and bolt fixing. Thickness will need to be adjusted as per lift needed. 50mm rear (21mm spacer) , 63mm front (35mm spacer)
30mm rear (13mm spacer) , 45mm front (25mm spacer).
This should work on Gen3 and Gen4. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS ONLY RESEARCH AND NOT PROVEN BY MYSELF

Based on spacers I have owned and measured, for both front and rear, the thickness needed to lift 50mm is 25mm (2:1 ratio). This applies to the section that sites between the coil and the chassis.

Thanks Kurt that's quite interesting as the info I've gathered suggest 1:8 for the front and 1:2.4 at the rear. I've bought 50mm spacers that I plan to have brought down to 25mm total for the front, the rear I will use land cruiser 80 or patrol front coil packers that apparently fit the rear of the Pajero perfectly. The packers/spacers are 20mm.
If what you saying is accurate I will end up with 50mm front and 40mm rear which is not ideal. I was hoping for 45mm front and 50mm rear to compensate for a bot of load.
